MASSIMO DE MATTIA & LUIGI VITALE

"Contrasting freedom and composition or them on different planes is absurd and antihistorical. We work daily to learn, to know, then to deny and to repudiate; And so we build, even subtracting. It is necessary at this point to release the music and the mind from the page, at least from that type of page, with rigor and without abandoning the case. An idea is authoritative if the thought that sustains it has a strong awareness of history and of the present: to know to take full control of time and moment, to be able to suspend it, to slow it down, to observe it, to change it, perhaps. So we create our instant compositions"
