Istituto Italiano di Cultura Tokyo
Monday, Nov 18th 2019 18:30 [starting]
The Italian Cultural Institute inveted the Quartetto Interzone to start "The Week of Italian Cuisine" with the "Crazy Little Thing" concert in Tokyo!
The Quartet Interzone, composed of percussionists Francesco Ciminiello, Roberto Migoni, Andrea Desogus and Charles Pusceddu, is an ensemble specializing in contemporary music for percussion instruments, with a repertoire ranging from the classics of the twentieth century, such as John Cage and Iannis Xenakis, to leading composers of the current scene as David Lang and Jason Treuting, up to younger talents such as Michael Sanna, who wrote a song especially for them here presented in world premiere.
The program of this concert pushes the boundaries between concert and stage action, exploring new avenues for music for percussion today. All the tracks are to create music from the voice and the gestures of the performers, and the use of everyday objects such as vases, bowls, cups and bottles, because every 'crazy little thing' can become a musical instrument, thus producing sounds and emotions.
This event is supported by the Italian Embassy in Japan and the Italian Cultural Institute of Tokyo
