In a long career which began in 1985 as a teenager member of a rock band, Sergio has experimented with almost everything. During the ’90s Sergio focuses his work on steel-string guitar, performing live in Italy and Europe; in 1998 works on the Ark Ensemble project, an Italian modern quartet exploring the sound possibilities of each instrument of the group. His first solo guitar album, Blu, was produced in 2004 by the Grammy winner and founder of Windham Hill Records William Ackerman; his solo project, Aria Meccanica (CandyRat Records, 2009) is a conceptual work—a fascinating trip into all the possible sonorities created on the guitar: loops, vocals, percussion, objects, and live electronics are wisely melded into a poetic vision.
